7. From this it seems reasonable to divide 364 into 104 + 260 days (I believe we are looking at a short description of a kind of 'year'). First comes a season with 104 days and the follows another ('2nd', possibly indicated by 2 'trees') with 260 days.
For various reasons I imagine this 'year' is located at the 'back side' of the year. For one thing I perceive a similarity between the 'clubs' in our standard deck of cards and these 'trees with bulbs'. Hearts and diamonds are red (probably representing the 'front side'), clubs and spades are black (the 'back side'). We are dealing with sign language and such must anciently have been the common ground for communication between people using all sorts of strange and not closely related languages. Nowadays almost all languages have disappeared, but once they must have been very numerous. |
