The first star to rise in Pegasus (Enif, 'the Nose', ε) is also its brightest. In rongorongo times it - together with Jih ('Sun', κ) - did not rise heliacally at the same time as Antares in November 25 = Gregorian day 329 but 80 days later, in RA day 329:

Saad Al Thabib 3 4   5 (275)
February 13 (409) 14 (45) 15
Ca12-13 (329) Ca12-14 Ca12-15
oho te vae te vai okahia te henua
Azelfafage, κ Capricorni (328.7), Enif, Erakis (329.2), Jih, 46 Capricorni (329.3) λ Capricorni (329.6), ν Cephei (329.7), Deneb Algiedi (329.8) Kuh (331.4)
August 15 16 (228) 17
Murzim 12 13 (92) An Nathra 1
Ras Elaset Australis (146.6) Vathorz Prior (147.9), υ¹ Hydrae (148.4) Ras Elaset Borealis (148.7)

The numbers are compelling. 409 is not only February 13 but also the glyph number for Rogo in Gb6-26 (where 62 * 6 = 372):

Gb6-25 Gb6-26 (409) Gb6-27 Gb6-28

If counting should begin with March 21, then day 329 would coincide with February 13 (409). If counting should begin with January 1, then day 329 would coincide with November 25 (329):

January 1 Antares RA day 249 November 25 (329)
March 21 Enif and Jih RA day 329 February 13 (409)

From November 25 (329) to February 13 (409) there are 80 days (= 409 - 329) = the distance from December 31 (365) to March 21 (445).

Next pair to rise in Pegasus were ν and ι and in rongorongo times this was at 22h:

Saad Al Thabib 6 7 (277)   8 9 10 (280)
February 16 17 (413) 18 19 (50) 20
Ca12-16 Ca12-17 (333) Ca12-18 Ca12-19 Ca12-20 (336)

August 18 19 (231) 20 21 22 (234)
An Nathra 2 3 (95) 4 5 (97) 6
 Tseen Ke (149.9), ν Leonis (150.1) π Leonis (150.6) 10h (152.2) Regulus (152.7), λ Hydrae (153.2) no star listed
υ² Hydrae (151.8), Al Jabhah (152.4)

Possibly the number for Ca12-20 should be counted from March 24 (Ca1-3), in which case it would be 334 (= 100 more than 234 for August 22). The very special glyph at 22h would then be number 333 (similar to 300 + those 33 which on Hawaii were counted from the evening reappearance of the Pleiades).

The position of right ascension number 22h would not be affected, because it must be counted from March 21. Neither would the positions of the stars be affected. The Pestle (π Pegasi, Woo) would still have risen together with θ (Baham) - and with the Sun - in February 20 (day 50 in an ordinary year).

In March 24 the last pair of stars in Pegasus (γ, Algenib, at the Chinese Wall, and χ) rose heliacally:

Saad Al Akhbia 1 2 3 (314) 4 5
March 24 (448) 25 26 27 28
Ca1-3 Ca1-4 Ca1-5 Ca1-6 Ca1-7
ki te henua te rima te hau tea haga i te mea ke  ki te henua - tagata honui te ika
Algenib Pegasi (1.8), χ Pegasi (2.1) θ Andromedae (2.7) no star listed Ankaa, κ Phoenicis (5.0) λ Phoenicis (6.3)
Alphard (450)
September 23 (266) 24 25 26 27
Dschuba 12 (130) 13 Azzubra 1 2 3
Pálida (184.6), Megrez (184.9), Gienah (185.1), ε Muscae (185.2) Zaniah (185.9), Chang Sha (186.3) Intrometida (187.4), Acrux (187.5) γ Com. Berenicis (188.0), σ Centauri (188.1), Algorab (188.5)  Gacrux (188.7), γ Muscae (189.0), Avis Satyra (189.3), Asterion (189.5)

The idea may  have been to regard Pegasus as the last part of the old RA year, its spiny tail part:

If counting should be done from the heliacal rising of Algenib Pegasi (in March 24), then the position of glyph 329 would move from Ca12-13 to Ca12-15, to the day beyond 360 / 8:

Saad Al Thabib 3 4   5 (275)
February 13 (409) 14 15 (46)
Ca12-13 (329) Ca12-14 Ca12-15
oho te vae te vai okahia te henua
Azelfafage, κ Capricorni (328.7), Enif, Erakis (329.2), Jih, 46 Capricorni (329.3) λ Capricorni (329.6), ν Cephei (329.7), Deneb Algiedi (329.8) Kuh (331.4)
August 15 16 17 (229)
Murzim 12 13 An Nathra 1 (93)
Ras Elaset Australis (146.6) Vathorz Prior (147.9), υ¹ Hydrae (148.4) Ras Elaset Borealis (148.7)

Precession could have moved Algenib and χ ahead from an ideal position at 0h, which they would have had around 150 years earlier. Around 1870 - 150 = 1720 A.D. they would have marked the Wall between the old and the new year.

At that time the first pair of stars in Pegasus, Enif and Jih, would have risen with the Sun in RA day 329 - 2 = 327 (February 11, Saad Al Thabib 1).

32 * 7 = 224 = 8 * 28.
