In rongorongo times Simiram (ω Carinae) rose heliacally in August 23. But first we have August 19 to consider, day 231 in the Gregorian calendar:

Saad Al Thabib 6 7 (277)
February 16 17 (413)
Ca12-16 Ca12-17 (333)
oho te vae kua pure ia

August 18 19 (231)
An Nathra 2 3 (95)
 Tseen Ke (149.9), ν Leonis (150.1) π Leonis (150.6)

This day was number 151 counted from March 21 and one more than 150 becomes one more than 230 counted from January 1. The pure glyph ought (like π) to indicate a portal of exit. The form of the pure resembles that at the bottom of the Mountain Tree. February 17 is day 14 * 29½ = 413.

Then, at 22h (and 50 days from January 1) the Lucky One of the King (Sadalmelik, α Aquarii) was with Sun when in the night Regulus (α Leonis) was with Moon:

Saad Al Thabib 8 9 10 (280)
February 18 19 (50) 20
Ca12-18 Ca12-19 Ca12-20 (336)
oho te vae koia ra kua haga hia kua moe

10h (152.2) Regulus (152.7), λ Hydrae (153.2) no star listed
υ² Hydrae (151.8), Al Jabhah (152.4)

The coconut tree (niu) could have been the Polynesian equivalent of my idea of a Mountain Tree:

February 21 22 23 (54)
Ca12-21 Ca12-22 Ca12-23 (339)

I have redmarked also Alrediph (δ Cephei) and μ Hydrae, which like Regulus (α Leonis) were 'star pillars' (though none of them in the Tahitian list):
