3. The Sun new year comes beyond winter solstice and the very first glyph seems significantly to be a Rei (the first of 12 such in the text):
This Rei is a small one and beautifully drawn. It is followed by 12 pairs of glyphs in an orderly fashion (the planetary colours were discussed at Moe and the glyphs at Haś):
88 (= 84 + 4) looks like an allusion to the 8 + 8 glyph lines on the G tablet (and also an allusion to the 8 + 8 glyphs from number 400). From Rei in Ga1-30 up to and including glyph number 182 counted from Rogo in Gb6-26 there are 88 glyphs. But another Rei (the 3rd of the 12) turns up 1 glyph earlier, which could represent day number 87, the day of spring equinox south of the equator:
Spring equinox ought to be around 180 days after autumn equinox (presumably arranged to be just beyond glyph number 399 because it would allude to the synodical period of Jupiter, cfr at Te Pito and at One Tea):
And from spring equinox there should be ca 250 - 180 = 70 days to Antares:
Summer solstice according to this perspective - we must not forget our earlier view with summer solstice at the end of the henua calendar - should arrive after another 26 days (and once again we can see 8 and 8):
92 and 94, at Ga8-8 and Ga8-10 (and also at Ga1-27 and Ga1-29), could allude to the number of days to winter solstice respectively to summer solstice - or the number of days to summer solstice north of the equator respectively south of the equator. 88 + 68 + 28 = 184. |
