1. Mesarthim is the star γ Aries and it is rising at the same time as Segin, just before 2h:

Allen:

"[It] has been called the First Star in Aries, as at one time nearest to the equinoctial point. Its present title, Mesarthim, or Mesartim, has been connected with the Hebrew Mεshārεtim, Ministers, but the connection is not apparent; and Ideler considered the word an erroneous deduction by Bayer from the name of the lunar station of which this and β were members."

I have in Camp 5 a text copied from Wikipedia according to which time zero in the system of right ascension still is called 'the first point of Aries', and I assume it is a heritage from the idea of a 'First Star in Aries':

... Right ascension is the celestial equivalent of terrestrial longitude. Both right ascension and longitude measure an angle that increases toward the east as measured from a zero point on an equator. For longitude, the zero point is the Prime Meridian on the geographic equator; for right ascension, the zero point is known as the first point of Aries, which is the place in the sky where the Sun crosses the celestial equator at the March equinox ...

Once it must have been Hamal (α), a star which nowadays (2012 AD) is at 02h 07m. Precession has moved Hamal 127 minutes away from time zero, which happens to correspond to approximately 32 days, an important number in the G text (cfr at Ksora and Segin):

Ca 2280 years ago Hamal was at time zero (32 / 365.25 * 26000 = 2277.9).

Mesarthim was there ca 28.2 / 365.25 * 26000 = ca 2010 years ago, but at that time the era of Pisces ought to have begun already, because the 'knot' of Alrisha was at time zero ca 2120 years ago. For (60 + 59) /4 = 29¾ and 29¾ / 365.25 * 26000 = 2118. We know that 0h at that time has become 2h today:

... 120 / 1440 * 365.25 = 30.4 and spring equinox north of the equator is around day number 89 counted from winter solstice. 30.4 + 89 = day number 119.4 (close to 4 * 30 = 120). This could be where she ends her days, the consort of the black Ethiopean King of Kings (the Lion 'Emperor') ...

Allen again:

"Jensen thinks that Aries may have been first adopted into the zodiac by the Babylonians when its stars began to mark the vernal equinox; and that the insertion of it between Taurus and Pegasus compelled the cutting off a pair of each these figures, - a novel suggestion that would save much theorizing as to their sectional character."
