The
t-party ends with Alice leaving the table
when the March Hare (the jumping one, Mars)
and the Mad Hatter (Mercury) together were
pushing the exhausted (French dormir,
to sleep) Door Mouse (Jupiter) head down
into the t-kettle:
Lewis Carroll wrote his Alice
adventures about the same time as when the
rongorongo tablets were created. They were
contemporaneous. More important - they were
synchronical, i.e. their descriptions
derived from simultaenous perceptions of the
same cosmos.
The head down sign, we
remember, was evidently used for dividing
the glyph text into a pair of equally long
halves:

But there is another
possibility. Instead of indirect mirror
observations of the rising Sun via the face
of the Full Moon time could be defined from
when the stars moved across zenith in the
night. The night sky revolved like the wheel
of a tombola, at least when observed from a
place close to the equator (where most of
the Polynesian islands were loctaed):
The lines of right ascension
simply ordered the stars according to how distant
they were from 0h, but a more dynamic structure (cosmos) had probably been
found much earlier from observing the
midnight culminations of the stars.
Whereas the
distances from 0h were purely spacial
(dependent on the stable diurnal revolution
of the Earth around its axis) the
culmination positions of the stars were also
temporal - dependent on the non-circular
movement of the Earth around the Sun, in an
elliptic path where speed changed according
to distance from the Sun. Therefore the
resulting measurements created a time-space
map.
I have listed the midnight
culmination dates for a limited number of
important stars, using information from
Richard Hinckley Allen's Star Names.
Their Lore and Meaning (another major
work dating from the time of rongorongo and
Lewis Carroll).
Then I have added these
culmination dates in my tables for the G text,
for instance at Gb8-10 where Denebola (β
Leonis) would have culminated at midnight in May 3
(respectively in °April 29, in 'April 6, and
in "March 23):

horizontal line across the blackmarked name
of a star means its midnight culmination
position.
It should be noticed that the
distance 136 nights could be measured out
from the midnight culmination of Atlas in
