Once again. Anciently day light in the sky had been observed to return after the winter solstice. Therefore the attention called for in early April by the Chinese wooden clappers - referring to the Father of Light alias Jus Piter (Jupiter) who was connected with wood because that was the necessary ingredient for making fires - was probably to make people recall this.

It was necessary to extinguish all the domestic fires produced by the friction of wood so as every one would be able to observe where the stars had been at that ancient golden time when the primary fire was brought down from the sky.

... They walked in crowds when they arrived at Tulan, and there was no fire. Only those with Tohil had it: this was the tribe whose god was first to generate fire. How it was generated is not clear. Their fire was already burning when Jaguar Quitze and Jaguar Night first saw it: 'Alas! Fire has not yet become ours. We'll die from the cold', they said. And then Tohil spoke: 'Do not grieve. You will have your own even when the fire you're talking about has been lost', Tohil told them. 'Aren't you a true god! Our sustenance and our support! And hail fell thickly on all the tribes, and their fires were put out by the hail. Their fires didn't start up again. So then Jaguar Quitze and Jaguar Night asked for their fire again: 'Tohil, we'll be finished off by the cold', they told Tohil. 'Well, do not grive', said Tohil. Then he started a fire. He pivoted inside his sandal ...

After 'a great downpour' the household fires would be allowed to return and the Sun would also return, winter would be 'dead' and summer in front. On Easter Island the corresponding ceremonies ought to have been in early October (= April + 6 months).

The turtle (honu) glyphs in the C text began at October 5 (corresponding to April 5 north of the equator) and 3 dark nights later there was an abrupt change from nighttime to Sun time:

In front there were feathers, 7 of them as in the mystic number of Pawahtun.

... Ta'aroa sat in his heaven above the earth and conjured forth gods with his words. When he shook off his red and yellow feathers they drifted down and became trees ...

The 3rd feather sign (as counted from top down) was exceptional. It emerged from above (i.e. presumably from Tagaroa) and served to 'embrace' the first pair of months. The Pole of Uoke could have shifted the stars 72 (= 360 / 5 = 2 * 36) days ahead and diminished Land accordingly. If so, then each of these 'tree feathers' of Tagaroa could have defined 'months' with 36 days = the measure between a pair of such 'feather trees'. 2 * 36 + 4 * 36 = 72 + 214 = 216.

At left we could possibly count 384 / 2 = 192 = 2 * 96, with each of these 'twin buns' (sky symbols) measuring 3 * 32 = 96 nights. 32 + 36 = 68 and 192 + 216 = 408 = 6 * 68. The number of glyphs on the K tablet was 192 according to my estimates.

In ancient Egypt there were 3 of these 'buns' at left and 3 at right, probably to indicate how 3 * 60 = 180 days were in the past and 180 ahead:

Alseiph (the Scimitar star) was noted by Bayer as φ in the Perseus constellation, and at the time of rongorongo the Sun had reached this star in April 14 (104 = 2 * 52).

Alseiph was the first of the Greek lettered stars in Perseus, yet Hevelius identified it with the right foot of Andromeda. And according to myth feather winged sandals allowed Perseus to fly high - at the proper time, when the stars had pointed it out - in order to decapitate the winter demon.
