In other words, precession gradually changed the year, but this was in a way only an illusion - the stars remained the same. One could guess the first step to preserve the true year was to increase its measure to 384 days, 20 more than 364. This might then cast light on why there was a difference in kind betwee Pop and the following 40 days. In Pop there is 'knot' for keeping a pair of bands together (with a golden quincunx up in the corner in order to be more explicit):
... Actually, when still young, this Vogulian 'World-observing Man' - Avalokiteshvara himself, this great and worshiped deity of Buddhist countries - was, like Kullervo, a much-plagued orphan, first in the house of his uncle [Pop], then in the house of 'the Russian' [Uo] and in that 'of the Samoyed' [Zip]. After years of misery - quite specific 'measured' misery - he kills all his tormentors. The revenge he takes is for himself. His father, who had lowered down the beloved son from the sky in a cradle, remains aloft ... in the house of 'the Russian' he is kept in the door hinge (in the English translation this and other details are blurred to insignificance), and dishwater is emptied upon him. To be damned to play door hinge is one of the hellish punishments in Egypt, because the hinge is supposed to turn in the victim's eye ... Half 384 = 192 = 4 * 48 (i.e. 384 = 8 * 48).
The 'knot' visualized in Pop could have alluded to the Ukdah knot in JUNE 10:
... Midsummer is the flowering season of the oak, which is the tree of endurance and triumph, and like the ash is said to 'court the lightning flash'. Its roots are believed to extend as deep underground as its branches rise in the air - Virgil mentions this - which makes it emblematic of a god whose law runs both in Heaven and in the Underworld ... The month, which takes its name from Juppiter the oak-god, begins on June 10th and ends of July 7th. Midway comes St. John's Day, June 24th, the day on which the oak-king was sacrificially burned alive. The Celtic year was divided into two halves with the second half beginning in July, apparently after a seven-day wake, or funeral feast, in the oak-king's honour ... After having eliminated the illusory difference between ºMarch and MAY we can now rest assured that the month of Jupiter was beginning in JUNE 10 and not in June 10 (nor in August 13, ºAugust 9, 'July 17, or "July 3). In K we can find Ukdah in Ka4-13 - where 413 = 14 * 29½:
