... Wasat ('the Middle', δ Gemini) was close to the ecliptic and it may have represented the navel of Pollux ...

However, the glyph text could alternatively here refer (or only allude) to the northern spring equinox at the time of rongorongo, when the hairy back of the head of Andromeda was at 0h - viz. if there was a continuity in the text from the last glyph on side b and on to the beginning of side a. The stars and dates connected with the glyphs would then be quite different:

Precession would had moved the stars ahead with 64 days since the time of Ain and instead of e.g. JANUARY 19 at Gb7-1 (possibly alluding to a precession coefficient of 71 years per day) in position 192 + 192 = 384, the calendar date would in rongorongo times have turned into March 24 (384 + 64 - 365 = 83).

And at tamaiti in Gb7-3 would Ankaa (α in the Phoenix constellation) have risen with the Sun:

... Zaurac and Zaurak [λ Eridani, cfr Gb5-6] are from the Arabic Al Nā'ir al Zaurak, the Bright Star of the Boat; but Ideler applied this early designation to the star that now is α of our Phoenix ...

But the glyph numbers - if counted from number 136 on side b (i.e. from Gb5-12 = glyph 365 from Ga1-1) - suggest a continuation of the reading beyond the 'Navel of Pollux' (Wasat). Furthermore, there were 48 more days from day 365 to day 413 where a synodic lunar cycle of 14 * 29½ = 413 days would have been completed. This notion agrees with the 'eyeless' hau tea in day 414 (cfr Gb7-4), where the mortal one of the Gemini twins rose heliacally:

A transition of the mode of reading the glyph text to the precessional time of rongorongo was possibly ripe between Procyon and Pollux, at α Monocerotis (Gb7-6) and 115 days after Sirrah. This right ascension day number (115), which equals 23 * 5 and 230 / 2, could explain the reason for April 25 (115) as the date for when the sky should begin to be raised:

... Later on in this series of rituals, the Chorti go through a ceremony they call raising the sky. This ritual takes place at midnight on the twenty-fifth of April and continues each night until the rains arrive. In this ceremony two diviners and their wives sit on benches so that they occupy the corner positions of the cosmic square. They take their seats in the same order as the stones were placed, with the men on the eastern side and the women on the west. The ritual actions of sitting down and lifting upward are done with great precision and care, because they are directly related to the actions done by the gods at Creation. The people represent the gods of the four corners and the clouds that cover the earth. As they rise from their seats, they metaphorically lift the sky. If their lifting motion is uneven, the rains will be irregular and harmful ...

... From February 11 (407) to April 25 (480) there were 73 days. Possibly this distance was to be measured out because 407 was counted from January 1 in the previous year and if counted from January 1 in the current year day 73 would have been March 14 - which then could be perceived as the date 3-14 and an allusion to π (meaning half a circle). 73 + 183 = 256 = 16 * 16.

Furthermore, the Sun ought to begin to rise in April 25 because from a 'birth' of time centered at February 11 there would then be another 73 (= 365 / 5) days before a cycle of 4 * 73 = 292 days would begin:

... The synodic cycle of Venus was locked to the year of the Sun, because 5 * 73 = 365. There were 5 Venus cycles for 8 Sun years. 365 * 8 = 292(0) = 5 * 584 ...

292 could be understood as 2920 when there was no zero to count with. The Sun ought to begin to rise at a time which coincided with the return of Venus as morning star, when she began to rise in the east ...

Although the point of the horn  (tara) of this horse began earlier, already at the feather on the back of the head of Orion:

The first 4 glyphs in line Gb7 could anyhow have referred to the early days, at the time of rongorongo, just after the northern spring equinox (heliacal view) or the corresponding nights after the southern spring equinox (nakshatra view), with a child (tamaiti) in position 3.

But 'the old year' (Castor, 'Beaver') was leaning forward to 'fall on his face' and both modes of reading the glyphs could be necessary.

... When the man, Ulu, returned to his wife from his visit to the temple at Puueo, he said, 'I have heard the voice of the noble Mo'o, and he has told me that tonight, as soon as darkness draws over the sea and the fires of the volcano goddess, Pele, light the clouds over the crater of Mount Kilauea, the black cloth will cover my head. And when the breath has gone from my body and my spirit has departed to the realms of the dead, you are to bury my head carefully near our spring of running water. Plant my heart and entrails near the door of the house. My feet, legs, and arms, hide in the same manner. Then lie down upon the couch where the two of us have reposed so often, listen carefully throughout the night, and do not go forth before the sun has reddened the morning sky. If, in the silence of the night, you should hear noises as of falling leaves and flowers, and afterward as of heavy fruit dropping to the ground, you will know that my prayer has been granted: the life of our little boy will be saved.' And having said that, Ulu fell on his face and died ...

The numbers offer a reasonable solution to the problem of where to stop the old mode of reading, because MAY 16 (136) was 56 days beyond 0h and this coincided with ariki (the King) in Gb7-11 because he was placed 56 days (8 weeks) beyond Gb5-12 (365).

The definitive transition of the reading modus could then have come 4 days after heliacal Pollux, viz. at ω Cancri - probably intended to be at the navel of Castor:

.

Sumerian SAG Phoenician resh Greek rho Ρ (ρ)

... Resh (Arabic: ۥ) is the twentieth letter of many Semitic alphabets, including Phoenician, Aramaic, Hebrew ... The word resh is usually assumed to have come from a pictogram of a head, ultimately reflecting Proto-Semitic *raۥ(i)š-. The word's East Semitic cognate, rēš-, was one possible phonetic reading of the Sumerian cuneiform sign for 'head' (SAG).
