5. How many glyphs are these below? Are they three or six?

Theoretically, I thought, two vertically disjoint elements should be two signs and therefore constitute two glyphs. But that would complicate my system, I would have to add for instance 'u' and 'd' (up respectively down) to define what glyph was meant.

Practical reason decided the matter, vertically disjoint elements do not constitute separate glyphs. Above are only three glyphs.

Later this proved to be a most important decision. Without it any deeper knowledge of the rongorongo texts is hardly possible. I had luck.
