Maybe we have to work with ambivalence:
The number of glyphs to consider for the first 2 lines is either 49 or 54, and it is not easy to judge which consecutive sums of glyphs are more meaningful:
The midnight type of henua in *Ra3-14 is above coloured for Mars. If we think it should be a Moon day, then we should not count the absent glyph *Ra3-1:
This feels better. 3-14 now moves one step ahead and the colours fit. *Ra3-12 should for instance be a Sun day because 3 * 12 = 36. And Saturn has 'one more' (than 10). The difference between counting 30 or 25 in line Ra1 could possibly have been used in order to manage the difference between 64 (Sun) and 59 (Moon) if the measure to the end of side b of G can be applied:
Anyhow, I feel inclined to reduce my estimated number of glyphs in line Ra3 from 30 to 29 and it will then be the same number as in line Ra6:
6 glyph lines for Sun will thereby add up to 168 (= 12 * 14) glyphs. The last 'station' of the ruling Sun King has number 26 and the last night of the Moon Queen is number 29. A pattern of symmetry indicates we should count twice 3 = 6 glyph lines for Sun and 4 + 4 glyph lines for Moon. She has two faces, but Sun only one. Line Ra4 ends the face of Waxing Moon, and the sum number is a satisfying 104 = 4 * 26. |
