There are 'eye
holes' in the first line of pare glyphs, but these
holes are 'plugged' in the second line. Raven (cfr at pu)
plugged holes:

When another vent formed, he plugged it too. |
Possibly such
'plugged holes' mean the 'eyes' are there, but 'down in the
earth', as if covered by soil (or moss). A parallel with puo seems
possible:
