GD75

vaha kai | Mostly Metoro identified this type of glyph with vai, but occasionally he said vaha kai. However, he said vai at other types of glyphs too, and therefore vaha kai is a more suitable label for GD75. | |||||||||||
A few preliminary remarks and imaginations: 1. The basic form of this glyph type is the shape of vai minus the external 'crescent signs':
The oval is a shape which determines an inside and an outside, a basic concept which certainly is useful in many circumstances. The circumference can be drawn either as a band or as a string.
While classifying glyphs I decided to separate ovals drawn as a string from those drawn as a band, though vai (oval plus 'crescent signs') contains both glyphs defined by strings and those defined by bands. |
