The text of G is a calendar based on 8 cycles of lunar double-months, described by 471 glyphs. 1 one of them must be counted twice in order to reach 8 * 59 = 472. The structure of the calendar is complicated, however, and several alternative 'readings' are possible. Rei in Ga2-27 has ordinal number 58 counted from Gb8-30, the glyph which must be counted twice in order to find the 8 basic lunar cycles:
It is the first glyph in the primary part of the calendar, where a number of 'periods' are defined by their end glyphs (e.g. Ga3-5). This primary part does not come until one double-month has passed:
The table is a slightly 'upgraded' version of one earlier discussed several times early in this dictionary. There are 18 periods with together twice 35 glyphs in the first 'half', followed by 15 periods with twice 30 glyphs, i.e. 70 + 60 = 130 glyphs in all. The extra (black) periods labelled 0 and 34 by me have 7 + 3 = 10 glyphs. 10 + 130 = 140. The reason why Rei at Ga2-27 does not have ordinal number 59 + 1 = 60 is now clear, the creator of the text wanted 50 glyphs at the very beginning of the text. 50 + 140 = 190. Furthermore, 19 is the number of glyphs in periods 1-3, and 57 = 3 * 19, i.e. before maitaki in Ga3-17 there are 4 * 19 glyphs:
