These 24 glyphs can be arranged e.g. in 4 groups of double triplets. Counting beyond tao in Gb1-24 we will reach 19 at haś in Gb2-17, where there are 19 'feathers'. Between Gb1-25 and Gb2-9 there are 9 glyphs which - following the lead of a structure with triplets of glyphs - can be interpreted as a calendar for the week which begins with Saturn:
The pattern suggests, however, that Sirius (Te Pou) in some way is the equivalent of Mars. The similarity probably is that both Mars and Sirius introduce new seasons. They stand at the 'doors' between seasons. Mars brings the spring 'fire' and Sirius could represent the 'fire' of the night sky. |
