If we compare
hoea with hau tea we can discern a common model:
|
|
Eb6-3 |
Aa4-46 |
In Aa4-46
the sky roof (top part of the glyph) is high, because it has
been pushed high during spring. The proportion of the glyph
between roof and ground gives the roof little vertical space,
because the 'rays' take much space.
In Eb6-3 the
'rays' are bent and short, because the sky roof lies low at winter
solstice. The 'roof' is not shown, because the sun (the little
'eye') is far off over the sea and absent. Instead there is a bottom
part which exhibits the traits of a house - there is an inside which
is dark. By lifting the right side of this 'house', though, a little
light will come in from the outside.
